MENDING LIFE DIFICULTIES

Image
Sometimes it is tempting to believe that life only causes pain. Perhaps you mark life by one hurtful event after another. If the  scars add up over time , you might view everything that happens in life as one more attempt to cause you pain. The truth is that you were created for a  better life  than that! Jesus Christ declared that He came to give you life, abundant life! He loves you and knows the pain you are experiencing because he experienced brokenness and pain too. He wept at the death of Lazarus, but He also raised him from the dead! He had compassion on the crowds and met their needs, offering healing, forgiveness and a fresh start. Fixing the Brokenness. Knowing that Christ loved you so much that He died to pay the price for your sins should convince you that  your life has tremendous worth  to God. He was not willing that you would perish! He came to bring you new life. Now, Jesus offers you the opportunity to surrender your broken life and dis...

WAYS TO FINDING TRUE LOVE

Image
There is probably no topic which has captivated people  throughout the centuries and from most every culture than the topic of love. We put a man on the moon, broke the speed of sound, and mapped the human genome, but love remains a complete mystery. Science has not been able to explain it. Mathematics cannot predict it. Poets still wrestle with adequate words to describe it. It may have been more than two centuries ago, but Plato’s words have never sounded more true, “Every heart sings a song, incomplete.” We are all looking for love. At any given moment, we may be far from it but we never stop hoping the next opportunity is just over on the horizon.  We are all looking for true love. One of our frustrations with love is our complete inability to keep it. Like sand slipping between our fingers, the harder we grasp the faster it seems to fall through. It would be nice if love was as simple as baking a batch of cookies or building a bird house for the backyard; a simple se...

WAY'S TO RECEIVE GOD'S POWER-2

The secondary way is to receive God's healing power through the faith of some other believer [ Acts 19:11 ]. The other believer ministers the healing grace of Jesus Christ through God's Word or the Gifts of the Spirit. The secondary way is an easier way to receive. The believer only has to be receptive to receive. Gifts of the Spirit and special ministries are wonderful and valuable. The believers should take advantage and promote the Gifts of the Spirit and special ministries of healing and miracles when they are available to the believer [ 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 ,  1 Corinthians 12:27-31 ]. The spiritual gifts or  charisma , are part of the grace or  charis  of Jesus Christ [ 1 Corinthians 12:1 ,  Romans 12:6 ,  ]. The Apostle Paul states, "But the free gift ( charisma ) is not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace ( charis ) of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many [ Roma...

WAYS TO RECEIVE GOD'S HEALING POWER -1

The primary way a believer receives God's healing power is through faith. God's healing power is available to the believer through the grace of Jesus Christ. Grace is anything that Jesus atoned for a Calvary to provide for the believer [ John 19:30 ,  Romans 5:11 ]. Grace and truth is by Jesus Christ [ John 1:17 ]. The scriptures states, "of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace [ John 1:16 ]. A believer accesses the grace of Jesus Christ by faith [ Romans 5:2 ]. The believer receives God's healing power through confidence in the grace provided by Jesus Christ [ Matthew 9:28 ]. Jesus bore my sins in his body on the tree. He bore my sickness [ nosos /diseases]. He took my infirmities [ astheneia ], my weakness, my symptoms caused by disease. I being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness, and with his stripes, I was healed at Calvary [ 1 Peter 2:24 ,  Matthew 8:17 ,  Isaiah 53:4 ,  John 19:30 ]. Jesus Christ, was  wounded [ chalal ] pr...

THE POWER OF GOD'S WORD

Words carry immeasurable significance: The universe was created with a word; Jesus healed and cast out demons with a word; rulers have risen and fallen by their words; Christians have worshiped through words of song, confession, and preaching. Even in our technological age, politics, education, business, and relationships center on words. Since the tongue is such a powerful force-for good or evil-we are wise to ask: What would homes, churches, schools, even the public square be like if we used words with Christian intentionality and eloquence?  The Power of Words and the Wonder of God  seeks to answer this difficult question. In these chapters, derived from Desiring God's 2008 national conference, John Piper, Sinclair Ferguson, and Mark Driscoll team with worship pastor Bob Kauflin, counselor Paul Tripp, and literature professor Daniel Taylor to help readers harness their tongues and appropriately command their silences for the glory of God and the ministry of the gospel. ...

SOME VERSES ABOUT BLESSINGS

And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing; And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."
